Camp Ruff It: Tales of the Pack, Episode 1

June 20, 2025
Every dog who walks through our doors brings a one-of-a-kind personality — from the class clown to the quiet cuddlebug, the social butterfly to the shy sweetheart. At Camp Ruff It, we get to see their stories unfold every day. This series is our way of sharing those behind-the-scenes moments, spotlighting the dogs who make Camp so special. Because here, every pup is the main character.

Episode One Starring: Jack and Johnny Rocket

Scene 1: “The Blue Bed Chronicles”

Location: Main play area, by the big blue bed.

Johnny Rocket slowly circles before flopping onto the bed. Jack, in his finest argyle sweater and bow tie, lays beside him.

Johnny Rocket (grumbling):

“They’re late with the meatballs again, Jack. Unacceptable.”

Jack (with a sigh):

“I’ve half a mind to refuse my food today. That’ll teach them.”

Both dogs side-eye a group of hyper puppies. Silent judgment. Loud huffs.

Scene 2: “The Great Bark-Off”

Location: Medium pen gate, as staff prepares lunch.

Johnny Rocket shuffles to his usual protest spot.

Johnny Rocket (barking like clockwork): “Where’s my red platter? This is not amateur hour, people!”

Jack strolls up, dramatically sniffing his slow feeder.

Jack: “Hmph. No carrots? Guess I’ll just… walk away disappointed.”

The staff laughs, slipping him a secret carrot slice. Jack’s mission = accomplished.

Scene 3: “Gossip & Zoomies (Sorta)”

Location: Blue bed in medium play area.

Johnny attempts a zoomie. It’s more of a dignified stroll. Jack keeps pace.

Johnny Rocket: “Remember when I used to outrun everyone here?”

Jack: “Now you just out-stare them. Equally powerful.”

They exchange a slow, knowing tail wag as a young doodle faceplants during a zoomie attempt.

Scene 4: “Nap Time Negotiations”

Location: Blue bed returns.

Jack fluffs the blanket with a paw. Johnny circles three times before settling.

Johnny Rocket: “Same time tomorrow, Jack?”

Jack: “As long as there are meatballs and carrots in the deal.”

Their eyes close. Two old souls, content in their canine porch life.

Scene 5: “Closing Credits: The Meatball Ultimatum”

Location: Kitchen window view.

The staff serves Johnny his meatballs… on a green bone shaped platter.

Johnny Rocket (from across the play area): “Oh no, no, no. You know my color.”

Cue the dramatic slow bark.

Jack smirks, munching his bonus carrot.

Fade out. Roll credits.

Stay tuned for next week’s episode of Camp Ruff It: Tales of the Pack — where the treats are dramatic, the drama is delicious, and the gates are never really locked…
